Time flies

Wow, it is amazing how time can slip by. Just yesterday, it seems like we came home to our Lake Monticello home with Ally, only to hear our cat meowing at us as we pulled into our driveway. Or bringing Emmy home two years later. Or chipping ice off the truck so we could get Reed home and hoping the power stayed on once we got home. In less than 48 hours we will have three children in school. How is that possible? No matter how many times people tell you to enjoy it, it's over before you know it, you really don't listen. And here we sit, with an almost-teenager at one end, and a kindergartner at the other. Where did the dependent children, the ones we had to carry, the ones we looked in on every night to see them sleep, the ones that we took a video of everything they did, go? Ally now makes brownies for her own swim team banquet. Emmy orders things online with just a little assistance. And Reed, just this Saturday night, "was checking out girls" while we listened to music at the lake. We coach their teams, we volunteer for their activities, we are members of school PTO, but still, their lives go faster than we ever thought possible. So my advice to each of you is, "Enjoy it, it's over before you know it." And each of you need to listen.
